Almost daily I am asked, “Pastor what should I be reading?” Here is a list of my Top 10. It’s not all that I would recommend, but it is a good start.
1. Knowing God, by J.I. Packer, InterVarsity Press
2. The Cross Centered Life, by C. J. Mahaney, Multnomah Publishers
3. The Gospel According to Jesus, by John MacArthur, Zondervan
4. Trusting God (Even When Life Hurts), by Jerry Bridges, Navpress
5. The Holiness of God, by R.C. Sproul, Tyndale
6. Evangelism & the Sovereignty of God, by J.I. Packer, IVP
7. Tell The Truth, by Will Metzger, IVP
8. Basic Christianity, by John R.W. Stott, IVP
9. Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman, Penguin Books (secular, but will make you think)
10. Systematic Theology, by Wayne Grudem, Zondervan (this book is perhaps the best written in the 20th century. A great reference book)
